It 'locks' into the opening by 2 prongs in the front and 2 adjustable prongs in the back. It's a very snug fit and does not move once placed. Because it's so tight, it's actually a little difficult to remove, not ideal for a guest bath where we needed the flexibility to take on/off in a pinch. Also, I'd assume that taking on/off to clean it would be more cumbersome although you can just pry and lift the white cushion off the plastic holder (but pee can get between the cushion and plastic).The seat is AIR-filled and provides enough cushion, but do not expect the full-foamy feel. It also has a LOWER profile than most of the foam-padded seats so the munchkin doesn't have to climb another 3in foam mountain to get on top of the potty. Possibly a bigger deal for little ones starting out with the stepstool, but probably not an issue with older/taller kids. The opening looks to be a SMALL 4.5x6.5in... The two piece design, however, leaves much to be desired. If my daughter doesn't sit on the seat just right, pee gets in between the two pieces, then drips out when she takes the seat off the toilet. It is easy enough to take the pieces apart for cleaning, but there are lots of little crevices that are hard to get to. It is bulky, but it does fit in my messenger style baby bag. My daughter won't sit on a large toilet seat for fear of falling and won't let me hold her. She also will not sit on the folding toilet seat as they shift when she would sit on it. This toilet seat is the only seat she will sit on when we are out. Before getting this product she would have many accidents because she was afraid to sit on the toilets. After seeing this product in the store, I felt like I needed to give it a try. Once we started using this toilet seat, everything just clicked for my daughter and has been accident free in public ever since. The product is a bit bulky but it is the smallest of the other two potty seats we have at home. This seat has been a blessing and I recommend it if you are facing similar issues. |
